Emily Senefeld is a Ph.D. candidate in the Corcoran Department of History, where she serves as Director of the Project for Technology in History Education. She received her B.A. from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2005 and her M.A. in History from the University of Virginia in 2010. Her dissertation research focuses on the history of the Highlander Folk School from the 1930s to 1960s, with an emphasis on how the staff used folk and labor music, labor dramas, and documentary filmmaking in their labor and civil rights organizing.
